This hepa air purifier is GREAT!! I owned 2 Siamese cats for 10 years, about 20 years ago. I had a lot of trouble with Asthma and allergies then, and had to give them away when I got pregnant with my child. Well, after all these years I decided to get another cat thinking that I surely couldn't be allergic now. WRONG! I got my little Chocolate Point,Buddy as a kitten in May, and now he is 8 months old and slowly but surely I developed Asthma and allergies AGAIN!! I thought I would try this air filter to see if it would make any difference, and YES it DOES!!! Honestly, within a few hours I could tell the difference in my breathing, and within days I started feeling 100% better! This is a life-saver. I have been using it for over a month, and I LOVE it. I actually ordered another hepa air purifier for my bedroom and I hope it will work as well. I HIGHLY recommend this unit to anyone who has cat allergies or Asthma!! It is big enough that it filters the air in my whole apartment. I have to close my bedroom door, so Buddy does not sleep on my bed!! That is why I ordered a separate unit for my bedroom.

I'm very pleased with this purchase. It does get noisy when set to high, but we have it in the living room. We run it on low most of the time.

It has helped my son's allergies and the air just smells fresher. I wish we had purchased it sooner! I'm going to order a second one for the family room.

I bought this after my honeywell broke after sooo maney years of use!

The honeywell 18155 is extremely silent ! Even on high!

I have severe asthma aand notice the difference after several hours after I received it & turned it on! Infact I would definetly buy it again!

The only thing is the replacement filter is huge- so i will have to cut it to size when needed!

I had this item for less then a week then all of a sudden it stopped working. It was great at first but then it became not so great. I was really disappointed that it did this. I was excited to have this air cleaner and was looking forward to long long use as I have 3 pets. Nonetheless, that will not happen with this product. It starts strong and has no finish!

The product seems to be working well,(I am only on day 4 though)except I noticed an odd odor in the room...kinda slightly electrical, very slightly chemical.(Did anyone else notice this) My nose is quite sensitive, I hope THAT smell will go away at some point, because running the machine does make the room seem so much "lighter". I cleaned the room from ceiling,to floor every nitty, gritty. My husband said maybe this is what a really clean room is supposed to smell like!lol

I liked the first one so well, that I bought a second. However, now it is time to clean the filter with a vaccum. It doesn't appear that any of the dirt is leaving the filter. I believe the unit is not as efficient now as it does need a thorough cleaning. The manufacturer claim is that the filter does not need to be replaced, but I am going out today to try to buy 2 new filters because I have not been successful in getting the filter cleaned out. I am thinking I should have bought a different type of unit with a metal filter that is easily removed and cleaned. Otherwise, this product has worked well beyond my expectations initially. Has anyone had this problem with the filter cleaning?

Love this air purifier. Very little noise....sounds like the low hum of a fan. I have two, one in each of my kids rooms. The noise the purifier puts out is more like white noise. I think it helps my kids sleep better. The only downside to this product is the size and it needing to be 3 ft away from furniture and walls. But, everything else is great. Also, really like the fact that it has 3 speeds and has the light that notifies you when the filter needs to be cleaned. Highly recommend it.

I found it very easy to use and operate! We bought it because of my wife's allergies which were worse this year due to more than average rain fall. We set it up in our bedroom and could smell the difference in the air in our room about two hours after turning it on. We sleep with on every night and my wife's congestion went away after about four days and hasn't come back since we've had this purifier. Is it a coincidence? We think it's the air purifier that makes the difference. This air purifier has three speeds, the higher the speed, the higher the sound which isn't bad at all.

Bought the product because I used to wake up with red eyes. I was also very tired. Thought my allergies were really creeping up at night (when your immune system relaxes). Bought the filter like two weeks ago.

First, pretty loud on both high and medium setting.

Second, pretty big for a room air purifier.

Third, seems to kind of work. Have been using it for two weeks, and it seems to kind of work. I'll give it a few more weeks to make a final decision. Might have been prudent to not get one at all or try for a better (more expensive) one.

Product received ahead of schedule. I installed in our bedroom and from the first night it has provided excellent results and my wife, who has numerous allegies, has been able to sleep at night. Only complaint is the size, but then I just didn't look at the footprint when I ordered. I'll be carefull the next one I order.

I believe this product is really helping my allergy's. I have it in my bedroom, on a table next to my bed. I was suffering from very bad nasal allergies every morning before I bought this product. Now, I wake up clear. I leave it on the medium setting 24/7. I have two cats that sleep with us at night. The dust in my room also looks a lot less. The noise level on the medium setting is very low, although you can hear it.

I bought this air purifier for two reasons. First, I live in a modest 1-bedroom apartment, and whenever I cook it's hard to get the lingering smells out of the air. The Hamilton True Air does an excellent job of absorbing those smells. Second, I recently adopted a cat even though I'm allergic to them. I love cats, but not their dander nor the smells sometimes associated with litter boxes! So far my allergy seems relatively under control. It hasn't completely eliminated the dander - I still get itchy nose and sneeze a little, but it has greatly reduced my reaction. I used to own a really expensive air purifier, but it didn't do much for my allergy as much as this filter did! Plus this is way more economical b/c it has a permanent filter and the expensive one I used to have required changing filters every few months (for a pretty penny too)

As for litter box smell - it mostly absorbs most odors, but not completely, but it's enough to a difference so that it's worth it. I keep it running all day in the living room on whisper mode and I hardly notice it. Good value for the price!

After reading reviews, I honestly thought this would be a very quiet filter. However, you will clearly hear this somewhat loudly when resting in a quiet room, even on the lowest setting. You don't really notice it, however, if there's other background noise, unless of course it's on the medium or high settings. I've had plenty of filters that were louder, and this is among the quieter.

After a few months of running this, I popped off the front and vacuumed out the filter. It sure caught a lot of dust. I can't tell if it caught mold or pollen or other stuff but this does reduce the amount of dust.

Certainly worth it for the price.

This product simply works. I usually leave it on in my bedroom at low speed except if I'll be gone extended period of time. Maybe it's my imagination but I don't sneeze anymore in my bedroom and have been sleeping through the night more comfortably. I am usually stuffed up but since I started using this unit, after about a week or so, I noticed that I can breethe through both nostrils. It became so when I go into another room, sometimes I start sneezing, so I ordered another one for the room I use for office and living room (covers most of my footprint in the house).

There were some remarks about sound level - in the lowest setting, you can barely hear a light whirring but my neighborhood and house is very quiet. I doubt you can hear it at all in urban settings. Even so, the sound level is so low that after a few days I don't even notice it anymore. In fact, I have to walk to it now to see if it's on or off.

I can't yet comment on filter longevity and ease of cleaning the filter since I only had it for a month or so.

This air filter is being used in a large room with two cat litter boxes and it had done a great job of eliminating the dust from the air. It was a great buy and worth the $130. It does have a quiet humming sound while in use.

I needed an air cleaner for my apartment due to the fact that I am a medical marijuana patient in Los Angeles and I keep the windows closed most of the time and the air conditioner running.

The unit is a little larger than I expected but was able to find a location that has it out of the way of foot traffic and also away from the ceiling fan. A magazine placed on top of the unit also helps to hide it at first glance.

The sound that others have commented on is not an issue to me. I have used the unit on high only (no jokes please) and it sounds similar to a 20" box fan on low setting. Noticeable but not overbearing and if you live on a major street like I do the white noise is actually nice for sleeping yet does not interfere with sound from the computer speakers or tv.

Waking up the first day after using it all night had me convinced this was worth the purchase. The air smelled clean and my nasal passages were clear, also I did not have the normal "bong cough" that many smokers have after years of medicating with medical marijuana.

Another plus to me was that this unit does not have the uv light or ozone generating capability. It just cleans the air and also I have read of health issues from the units that generate ozone into closed areas.

We are on our second SilentComfort Air Purifier. We have had one of these that ran 24/7/365 for about 8 years and the motor bearing finally gave out. I think that was a lot of use and we got our money's worth on the first one. We replaced it with one exactly like it because we really missed the pleasant white noise it adds to our bedroom. Both the clean air and the soothing noise help us to sleep. Hope they are still making these 8 years from now.
