I also got ill from the plastic fumes being emitted from the "emission free" Airfree P1000. I tried leaving it on for a couple of days to see if the fumes would burn off, but it's just as bad. After reading the review that someone else left it on for 2 weeks, and it was still emitting the fumes, I'm going to return it.

This little air purifier is great! I was a little skeptical that it would actually work. It just seemed impossible. But, it does. I'd recently moved to an apartment that later proved to have a mold problem. I ended up getting eczema all over my body. Then, to make things worse, allergy season started up. I got this little pod thing as a last resort because nothing else was working. I've pretty much cleared up. Also, as hot and muggy as it's been lately, the purifier seems to lighten the air. Usually my bedroom is an oven, but now it's so cool and refreshing. It's fantastic!

Finally I have found something to give me some relief at night during my allergy season. I have a high sensitivity to tree pollens and even with allergy medications my nights have never been as symptom free as they have been since I purchased this air purifier.

After plugging it in, this unit emitted a melted plastic odor which became worse after a few hours. It caused headache, sore throat, and peculiar taste in the mouth for the family members for whom it was purchased (varying ages). The blue plastic at the top was very hot to the touch. This purifier was purchased to improve air quality, not make it toxic. Amazon processed the return/refund promptly.

After moving in to a little cottage by the sea, it was readily apparent that there was a mold problem and I was very sensitive. I couldn't breath at all in our bedroom, and had chest pains during the day, because my breathing was constricted. Knowing that we didn't want to move again. We shelled out $200 for this little blue spaceship hoping that Airfree's convection and incineration theory would work. The first night I could tell the difference. Even my wife didn't wake up with a stuffed nose. Almost two months into it, I'm having no symptoms of allergens affecting me. I'm usually affected by night lights, but it has a light hue which doesn't distract me while trying to get some z's. So even though I know mold is present, the airfree controls the spores from spreading and affects my lungs. All I can say is that it has made my living and sleeping enviroment both enjoyable and peaceful.
